Wedge or Full Lift? Which one is right for me?

A wedge lifts only your heel and typically ends before the ball of your foot.   It can be loose and placed inside the shoe if it is not too high (we normally don't build a loose heel wedge more than 1/2" in height).  A heel wedge can also be permanently built into the sole of the shoe.

A wedge can also be lateral on either the inside or outside to help keep your ankle from rolling.  A lateral wedge can be built along with a heel wedge but it must be permanent.

A full lift is built to lift heel to toe rather than just a portion of the foot.  A full lift can be loose and placed inside the shoe if it is not too high(we normally don't build a loose full lift more than 1/2" in height)  A full lift can also be permanently built into the sole of the shoe.  A lateral wedge can be built along with a full lift but it must be permanent.

Normally, a medical profession prescribes or recommends a solution for you.  We are happy to help you understand the differences between a wedge and a full lift and the pluses and minuses of each solution to help you determine what is best for you.  Email us your questions or book a meeting.
